Estamos ante una de las zonas m\u00e1s abruptas y espectaculares del Pirineo leridano. Se caracteriza por sus numerosos lagos de monta\u00f1a (estanys) y por sus interminables canchales (tarteras). No hay dificultades t\u00e9cnicas, pero no es f\u00e1cil seguir la pista al camino ni ver los hitos, ya que se camuflan en el mar de piedras y no es dif\u00edcil desorientarse. Estamos, adem\u00e1s, ante un terreno correoso que puede ser dif\u00edcil de transitar. Hay que tener algo de cuidado al bajar el collado de Peguera, de igual forma que al subir al collado de Monastero. Todo esfuerzo, sin embargo, merece la pena, por la inmensidad y la luminosidad del paisaje, coronado por cimas y crestas escarpadas, como por el azul intenso muchas veces casi negro de muchos
